About Me
I have practiced as a Sports Therapist for over 9 years and worked within the company for over five of those years.
I hold a first-class honours degree in Sports Therapy (BSc) Hons and have an extensive background working within a clinic and alongside amateur athletes at Malvern RFC as the previous lead therapist on game days, professional athletes including Worcester Wolves Basketball, GB Wheelchair Basketball and Triathletes, Cirque de Soleil, MMA and World Powerlifting Champions. I am the West Midlands Representative for the Sports Therapy Association. I work closely with the organisation to develop up-to-date resources for our clients to help them better understand their injuries.
I am a huge advocate for promoting wellness in global health and aim to individually tailor my sessions to meet the requirements of yourself each session, and in line with your longer-term goals. Working together with yourself, I aim to get you at your best by accessing knowledge picked up throughout my career working with other professionals and signposting where required using connections fortified during this time.
I specialise in providing in-depth movement screenings to help predict, prevent and treat possible injuries from happening. When attending a Sports Therapy session, a full injury assessment can be carried out to determine the cause of your pain/symptoms. You will receive an individualised treatment and rehabilitation plan and the best advice to get you back to fighting fit. Our onsite rehabilitation space will help you better understand your injury and the mechanics leading to your progression.
As well as injury assessments, at Fire and Earth, I can provide hands-on soft tissue treatments and dry needling to reduce muscular tightness, restrictions, and pains. Electrotherapy, including Interferential and Therapeutic Ultrasound, can also aid pain management and optimise recovery. Paired with rehabilitation, these modalities can improve your performance, mobility, flexibility, and power.
As of March 2024, I am qualified in Sharon Wheeler's Scar work and am a Restore Scar Therapy practitioner. This learning came from my own experience and frustration with surgical scars following two Caesarean sections with mixed outcomes. I aim to address the function of scar tissue whether it be causing pain, restriction, or inhibiting recovery elsewhere in your body and aid in its appearance where possible.
I practice what I preach in my spare time and hit the gym as often as possible around a busy family life with my newborn son.
I look forward to meeting you soon 😊
